Attorney At Law

Personal Experience

Patrick Mika is among a small number of elite lawyers in the United States who have spent real time in the courtroom trenches trying cases before juries. He has a proven record that includes victories in over 100 felony trials, both in Colorado and nationally. With his professional training and advanced trial education at the National Criminal Defense College, Mercer Law School, Patrick Mika has been recognized by many organizations, including the prestigious American Board of Criminal Lawyers (ABCL). The ABCL is the only legal organization in which membership is limited by standards. To be accepted into ABCL the lawyer must have won at least 5 murder cases and a minimum of 35 major felony trials. They must also be nominated by a member, endorsed by 3 judges and unanimously accepted by its board of governors. Patrick Mika has been a member of ABCL since 1994, having held numerous offices within the organization, including the 2014 presidency.

Pat was educated at the University of Arkansas, where he received a Bachelor’s Degree, magna cum laude, in English, 1979 (Phi Beta Kappa), and Juris Doctor Degree, 1982. While in law school he ran the indigent prison project. He has made his home base in Colorado Springs, Colorado, since moving to the City of Champions in 1982 as a member of the United States Judo Team. He was a successful National Team Member from 1981 to 1985.

Pat worked at Tegtmeier, Sears & Mika, from 1982-1990. He opened his own law firm, Mika & Associates, P.C., in 1990. The firm is small in size, but the results are not. Pat and his staff provide unique, personal attention to their clients. Located conveniently in a quaint, historic building in downtown Colorado Springs, Pat's office has been made into a comfortable and inviting space for clients.

The extensive skill Pat has acquired handling complex criminal trials has contributed to a successful, growing plaintiffs’ personal injury practice. Pat has witnessed first-hand the growing hostility toward injured people - as if they were the ones responsible for their circumstances. The firm has now turned its attention to helping individuals who have suffered serious injuries due to another’s negligence. The firm limits the number of cases it accepts to ensure that each client is given the individual attention required in order to obtain the best possible outcome. The firm’s services to injured parties include not just legal advice, but assistance in warding off the financial crisis that devastating injuries can incur.

If you find yourself in need of legal counsel due to serious criminal charges, or you have been injured through the fault of another person or entity, Pat assures you won’t find better representation elsewhere.
